In November 2017 Alimentation Couche-Tard decided to sell 100% of the shares in Statoil Fuel & Retail Marine AS (“SFR Marine”) to St1 Norge AS, a subsidiary of St1 Nordic Oy.
St1 pilots sustainable carbon sequestrating through afforestation in Morocco

St1 has signed an agreement with the Université Mohammed VI Polytechnique in Morocco and its affiliated fertiliser company, OCP, for the implementation of an afforestation pilot. Over a period of three years, the project will examine the carbon sequestration by trees under various controlled conditions in Morocco.
VTT and St1 to pilot future bioeconomy: Climate-friendly hydrocarbons from industrial carbon dioxide emissions

VTT and St1 have launched a unique experiment in Finland aiming to produce hydrocarbons from industrial carbon dioxide, which can be refined to fossil-free petrol, diesel and chemicals.
The St1 Nordic group combined all areas of St1’s business for the first time as of the beginning of 2018, including the oil refinery business, which was previously run by St1 Group.
