Risholmen solar park

In November 2023, St1 announced its first solar park project on Risholmen, outside Gothenburg. Construction began in early 2024 and will be completed in 2025. Risholmen has been identified as an ideal location for a solar park, with the potential to produce 8,560 MWh annually.

This project will:

  • Produce renewable electricity that complements St1’s wind power projects.

  • Contribute to accelerating St1’s energy transition.

  • Utilize previously unused land.

The Risholmen solar park is projected to generate enough electricity to meet the annual energy needs of approximately 3,500 households, based on average apartment consumption.

Solar parks in Dalarna

St1 Sweden is planning to build up to three solar parks in Borlänge and Säter, Dalarna, with a total capacity of up to 50 MW. Land lease agreements have been signed with local landowners, and impact assessments are underway.

The landowners in the area have shown strong support for the project, recognizing the benefits of using underproductive land for renewable energy production. This partnership not only contributes to the local economy but also aligns with sustainable practices, providing an additional revenue stream for participating farms.
